Salary – £20-£22 per hour depending on qualifications and experience
A vacancy has arisen for a part time Finance Officer to work for the Catholic Parish of Our Lady and the Saints of Guernsey to assist the Parish Priest and Parish Finance Committee in managing the parish finances principally by maintaining the parish accounting records and producing all reports in a timely manner.
The role will be based at the parish offices at Ampthill House, St Peter Port, Guernsey working closely with the parish clergy, office staff, property manager and the Finance Committee to ensure efficient and effective management of parish finances.
The role is for 12 hours per week but there will be some flexibility required for occasional evening work for meetings.
Experience and qualifications required for role:
- Experience of working independently in a busy environment with many competing demands on time.
- Practical experience of bookkeeping. A bookkeeping qualification is not required but relevant experience is essential.
- Experience of accounting software
- Approachable style with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Personal attributes:
- Sympathy with the ministry and mission of the Catholic Church
- Effective collaborative working
- Discretion and confidentiality
- Experience of accounting software
- Ability to communicate complex data effectively in both written and verbal form
- Very good organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
