Times for weddings are as follows:
Monday – Thursday: 12:00pm, 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm, and 4:00pm, except for the Church’s Holy Days of Obligation, other special liturgical days, and major civil holidays.

Saturday: 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm, and 4:00pm, except for the Church’s Holy Days of Obligation, other special liturgical days, and major civil holidays.

To initiate the reservation process, the couple must: 

  • Review the sacramental requirements here
  • Contact the priest-in-charge to complete the Marriage Application pack.
    There may be a £28 charge if a Catholic is marrying a non-Catholic. This is to cover the costs of postage and the Diocesan Chancellor’s paperwork  
  • Contact the office to determine availability and book the church with an initial deposit of £200
    (The deposit is refundable after the wedding, when the church is left in good state)
 

Decorations 
Decorations may be brought in one hour before the wedding. Please note these restrictions:

  • No kind of adhesive is to be used on the pews or any church furnishings
  • No candles are allowed on the floor of the aisle; Unity candles are not permitted at all
  • No pews or aisles are to be blocked or cordoned off in any way at any time
  • No aisle runner
  • Please leave a central flower piece in church as an offering after the wedding

 

Confetti 

Only flower petals are allowed. The associated cleaning charges are:

  • OUTSIDE the church: £40
  • INSIDE the church: £100

Legal paperwork

  • We require that couples bring their RBWM or local marriage license with them to the rehearsal or to the office at least 1 working day before the wedding.  See here for operating hours.

Music 

  • Music and singing have always been an essential element of the wedding liturgy. All music selected for weddings is to be recognized liturgical music. Some classical music is also acceptable. You can speak to the priest to help guide your selections. 
  • Couples can contact the office to book the services of our organist and cantor to lead the congregational singing during a wedding liturgy. Payment is to be made directly to them 1 week before the wedding. Alternatively, the couple may engage other singers and musicians using their own instruments. 

 

Rehearsals

  • Last one hour, and ordinarily held on the eve of the wedding at 5:00pm or 6:00pm. 
    Two days before the wedding can usually be accommodated if requested.
  • Have to begin promptly. The priest has the right to end the rehearsal on time 
  • Outside wedding consultant has no role in the liturgy. 
  • There should be no drinking or eating during the rehearsal 
  • The fee for the rehearsal is in addition to the offering: £40
 
Decorum
  • At no time are food and beverages to be brought into any part of the Church or anywhere on the premises. 
  • Smoking or vaping is not allowed at any time. 
  • There should be no drinking or eating before or during the wedding
  • All guests must be suitably clothed whilst in the Church
 
Offering
In order to cover the costs associated with the use of the Church, we request an offering of £380 (until August 2026). This offering covers the services of the registrars, admin, priest, building costs and utilities.

We request payment for the offering & rehearsal (if any) to be paid at least 1 month before the wedding.

Times for baptisms are as follows:
Tuesday – Saturday: 11:00am, 11:30am, except for the Church’s Holy Days of Obligation, other special liturgical days, and major civil holidays.

To initiate the reservation process, the parents must: 

  • review the sacramental requirements here
  • contact the priest-in-charge for a meeting before contacting the office to book a date at least 3 months from that meeting 
  • attend Mass regularly
  • consider an offering of £50 to cover the admin costs, baptism candle, priest, building costs and utilities
  •  
  • book the centre in good time if needed: Parish Centre – St Joseph’s Church Maidenhead & St Elizabeth’s Cookham

Times for funerals are as follows:
Monday – Thursday: 9:00am, 10:00am, 11:00am, 2:00pm, except for the Church’s Holy Days of Obligation, other special liturgical days, and major civil holidays.

Friday: 2:00pm, 3:00pm, except for the Church’s Holy Days of Obligation, other special liturgical days, and major civil holidays.

 

Music & Order of Mass

We have a bluetooth system for you to stream your preferred music. 

Alternatively you may request for your funeral director to book the services of our organist and cantor to lead the congregational singing during a funeral liturgy. Payment is to be made directly to them via the funeral director.
Alternatively, the family may engage other singers and musicians using their own instruments.

Offering
In order to cover the costs associated with the use of the Church, we request an offering of £300. This offering covers the services of the priest, church & building costs and utilities.
Kindly make a donation to cover travel costs to crematoriums, cemeteries, etc.
