Christmas is a season for kindness, a time to offer a fresh message of hope. As we emerge from the COVID pandemic, many people continue to live isolated from friends, family, and community; often struggling with financial distress, poor health, job uncertainty and bereavement. Love Christmas brings change by drawing people together to share Bags of Kindness. It strengthens personal connections in communities across the UK and lets people know they are not alone. Love Christmas is a national initiative, growing through a network of thousands of churches and other local organisations, connecting people of all faiths and none.
We are delighted to announce that as our project for Advent, St Joseph’s and St Elizabeth’s will be part of the Love Christmas campaign #loveyourneighbour https://www.loveyourneighbour.uk/lovechristmas . Please look out for more details next week.

Love Christmas #Loveyourneighbour St Joseph’s and St Elizabeth’s Love Christmas project is being run by the parish Vision Group, as a joint effort with other churches in Maidenhead, including St Edmund Campion. We will all be raising money in our parishes and jointly buying goodies and making up our Bags of Kindness to share with those who are struggling in our community. By supporting Love Christmas, you’ll be helping churches across Maidenhead and the nation reach even more people with kindness this year. We will be asking for donations of money from next Sunday, the first Sunday of Advent. We will also have a second collection on the first three Sundays of Advent. Also, cash and cheques can be handed in to the parish office. Don’t forget that you can Gift Aid your donation if you give us your details. We will shortly let you know about our JustGiving fundraising page too. Between all the churches taking part in Maidenhead, we hope to make up 700 bags or more with Christmas goodies. And, if you know someone that you would like to nominate – neighbours, people in need or those who you think deserve a gift of kindness, please let the parish office know.
LOVE CHRISTMAS By popular request, there will be a selection of soups available after the 11:00 Masses on both Sunday 5th and Sunday 12th December. Please bring your cash to help support these Advent events to raise funds for the “Love Christmas” project, and enjoy home-made soups, crusty bread and butter, cakes and biscuits – and a little chat!
