General overview

Our facilities consist of:   -  

  • 1 large hall    
  • kitchens adjacent to the above hall    
  • bar area (with optional bar facilities)    
  • free car parking for up to 100 cars     
  • toilets and cloakroom facilities, including disabled
  • Our standard hire rates include free use of tables and chairs, crockery, cutlery, p.a. system, whiteboards, blackboards, screen, overhead projector.
  • Generally there is no collecting of keys for access as we have a very efficient caretaker who, where possible, sets out the rooms in advance of your hire.
  • We are located conveniently on the outskirts of the town centre and are in easy walking distance of public transport.

St Joseph’s Hall

A large modern hall that opened in 1985, offering the following features:

  • Accommodates (licensed) 120 people, or 150 when adjoining bar is opened up; the hall is tall  and airy
  • The hall has a built in public address system. With the facility to play background music through a tape deck
  • A kitchen adjoins with serving hatches to both the hall and the bar area
  • Cloakrooms and toilets (including disabled facilities) are located in the entrance lobby
  • Dimmer lights are available, otherwise ceiling lights are day light tubes
  • Doors are double entry and exit
  • Special loading and unloading facilities for outside caterers are available.
  • We offer free use of tables, chairs, kitchen crockery, cutlery, etc.
  • The adjoining kitchen offers use of dish washer, glass washer, large gas cooker, fridge and freezer. The kitchen also has a wall mounted water heater and a hot water urn.

The Bar and Bar Area

The bar is open for private bookings only and no form of social club membership is required The room itself is also available for hire without the bar being open. It will accommodate a maximum of 30 people. This is a comfortable room, with a more relaxed feel to it with its low-level tables and comfortable chairs.

If you wish to place a booking or would like to come and have a look around? Here’s what to do - Just telephone our administrator on (01628) 636312 or just pop in to our office. The Parish Centre office is manned Monday to Friday 09.00 a.m. To 12.00 noon. Outside these hours, or if for any reason our administrator is away from the office, an answer machine will pick up any messages and our administrator will then ring you back as soon as possible.

To place a one off function booking, we will need to know:

  • The hall/room you wish to use.
  • The date and time/s you are interested in.
  • Your name and address and telephone number.
  • The type of function/event you wish to hold and expected numbers.
  • Your booking will be pencilled into our diary.

Our administrator will then raise an invoice detailing how much deposit you need to pay and when, and when the balance of payment is due.

To place a Regular booking, we will need to know:   

  • The hall/room you wish to use.
  • The date and time/s you are interested in.
  • Your name and address and telephone number.
  • What you wish to use our facilities for.
  • Your booking will be pencilled into our diary.  

Our administrator will then write confirming all the details. Along with the letter you will receive a copy of our conditions of hire. You will need to read it and sign and return one copy, retaining a copy for your records.   -  

The letter will confirm that you will receive an invoice once per month for the whole month’s bookings payable within 30 days of invoice date.
